Lubab Academy is an Islamic online institution offering our services to individuals seeking to expand on their existing Islamic education alongside their personal and secular pursuits.
Our instructors are committed to guiding and supporting our students as they pursue their spiritual aspirations in a welcoming, positive online environment- all within the comfort of their own homes!
We use this blog as a platform to provide informative Islamic articles, Q/A services, and publications to serve the Muslim Ummah. We also offer a variety of online courses, taught by a team of qualified scholars which can be found here.
Our Instructors
SHAYKH ABDULLAH AYAZ MULLANEE- DEAN
Shaykh Abdullah Ayaz Mullanee was born in Karachi, Pakistan and raised in Toronto, Canada. After high school, he enrolled in the seven-year Alim program at the highly esteemed Darul Uloom Zakariyya in Johannesburg, South Africa. He studied Fiqh and Hadith under the likes of Mufti Radhaul Haq, Moulana Sulaiman Choksi, Mufti Muhammed Ali, and Tafsir under the instruction of the world renowned speaker Moulana Sulaiman Moola. During his stay there, he was taken under the wing of Mawlana Abdul Quddoos al-Qasmi to Specialize in Arabic Language. Under his guidance, he received additional training in Arabic literature, translation, and oration. As a student, he was the editor-in-chief for al-Nur magazine and a regular contributor and editor for various publications. He graduated in 2015, while maintaining one of the highest scores throughout his seven-year course.
He is the author of The Poetic Words of Sayyiduna Ali, Forty Ahadith and Six Points, co-author of The True Prophetic Way of Performing Taraweeh Salah and is the chief editor for the CCMT magazine, Bridging the Gap.
He is passionately involved in several other initiatives around Toronto and is regularly invited to speak at youth and community based events. Shaykh Abdullah currently teaches at Khairul Ummah Academy and Mathabah Institute while conducting online classes for Lubab Academy’s Arabic Language and Qur’an programs. He is also the editor in chief for ‘Bridging The Gap’, the official magazine for the Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians.
SHAYKHA AMNA JAMIL- DIRECTOR
Shaykha Amna Jamil was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and grew up in Toronto, Canada. After completing high school in the Year 2009, she joined Jaamiah Qaasimul Uloom, formerly known as Ashraful Uloom, situated in Toronto to pursue her 6-year Aalimiyyah course. During that time, Shaykha Amna studied under well-known scholars of the GTA, including Hadith under Mufti Mohammed Aslam Kachhvi, Mufti Adam Koya, and Mufti Muhammad Azam Bakhtiar, as well as Tafsir under Shaykh Aslam Uddin Azhari and Mufti Saleem Chauhan. She graduated in the year 2015 and went on to teach at various Islamic schools in the GTA.
She currently works as the Director as well as Arabic instructor for Lubab Academy.
SHAYKH MOHAMMED MAMUN- ARABIC LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR
Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and raised in Connecticut, Shaykh Mohammed Mamun had begun his Memorization of Quran in Darul Uloom Buffalo at the age of 11 and finished at the age of 14. He thereafter started Alim course in Darul Uloom New York. After a year of studying Alim Course in Darul Uloom New York, he travelled overseas to Johannesburg, South Africa, to complete the remainder of his Alim course in the prestigious Darul Uloom Zakaria. He studied Fiqh and Hadith under the likes of Mufti Radhaul Haq, Moulana Sulaiman Choksi, Mufti Muhammed Ali, and Tafsir under the tutelage of the world renowned speaker Moulana Sulaiman Moola. After graduating from Darul Uloom Zakaria at 2016, he went on to specialize in the Arabic language under the tutelage of Moulana Abdul Quddus Qasmi.
He currently serves as a Khatib within the South Atlanta area, and delivers lectures across Masajid in the United States while conducting online classes for Lubab Academy’s Arabic Language program.
SHAYKHA FILZA JAMIL- FIQH INSTRUCTOR
Shaykha Filza Jamil was raised in Canada. In 2010, Sheikha Filza started the 6-year Aalimiyyah program at the respected institute of Jaamiah Qaasimul Uloom, formerly known as Ashraful Uloom in Toronto, Canada. Sheikha Filza studied under well-known scholars of the GTA, including Hadith under Mufti Aslam Kaachwi, Mufti Adam Koya, Mufti Zakaria Panchbhaya, Mufti Muhammad Azam Bakhtiar and many more. Shaykha has also studied Tafsir under Shaykh Aslam Uddin Azhari and Maulana Nadeem. She graduated in the year 2016.
She has taught in various Islamic schools in the Greater Toronto Area. She currently teaches from her home in Etobicoke, Canada, and is conducting online classes for Lubab Academy’s Fiqh and Arabic program.
SHAYKHA MAHFUZAH JAMAL- CANADA- QUR’AN INSTRUCTOR
Shaykha Mahfuzah Jamal was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. In the Year 2009, Shaykha Mahfuzah travelled from her hometown of Hamilton, Canada, to study in Jaamiah Qaasimul Uloom, formerly known as Ashraful Uloom, situated in Toronto. Shaykha Mahfuzah studied under well-known scholars of the GTA, including Hadith under Mufti Mohammed Aslam Kachhvi, Mufti Adam Koya, and Mufti Muhammad Azam Bakhtiar, as well as Tafsir under Sheikh Aslam Uddin Azhari and Mufti Saleem Chauhan. She graduated in the year 2015 and went on to study Hifdh of the holy Qur’aan under the guidance of Qari Ayyub Ismail of Toronto, Canada.
She has been teaching in Masjid Umar in Hamilton, Ontario, for the last three years, and also teaches private classes for students from her home while conducting online classes for Lubab Academy’s Qur’anic Literacy program.
SHAYKH ALI ABDALLAH MWIMBE – TEACHING ASSISTANT
Shaykh Ali Abdallah Mwimbe is a resident of Botswana who finished his memorization of the Qur’an and ‘Alim course in Darul Uloom Zakariyya, South Africa. Shaykh Ali is the head Imam and evening Maktab teacher at and a high school Islamic Studies teacher at Forest Hill English Medium School. He is also pursuing his Bachelors of Education at the University of South Africa. Sheikh Ali currently works as a T.A. for Lubab Academy.
